Mission

Trying To Put A Garden Back To Something Like Its Former Glory

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Liverpool.

On the hottest day of the year so far Pauline and Matthew attended a lovely large house with garden in order to cut back some rather overgrown beds. The owner was an amazing 100 years old and was initially worried we might be there to cut trees down but once it was explained we were essentially weeding she was happy for us to proceed. One of the reasons for our visit was to clear a space so a washing line could be put up to dry washing. It was a massive task and an overgrown and dilapidated greenhouse proved too much but P&M still managed to clear a lot of weeds, mainly brambles and ivy (why is it always brambles and ivy?) and will return at a later date to tackle the rest. The hope is to get the owner to sit outside and enjoy her garden again, which has clearly been loved in years gone by. Another humbling and emotional Mission and one that we look forward to returning to soon in order to finish it.
