10 runners ran 5k to help their local community in Colchester.

It was a wet and chilly evening, but that did not stop our Goodgymers from turning up. We welcomed Danielle who came for her document check and look forward to seeing her join us on her first run soon. Emma made her GG red shirt debut and we congratulated everyone who ran or supported runners at the Colchester Half Marathon on Sunday. The news doesn't end there, Michelle celebrated her landmark 50th run with GG tonight - we look forward to you sporting your black shirt at a run soon!

Much to everyone's amusement, we warmed up with a game of Jelly Beans and then made our way to the Oaktree Community Centre. We rejoiced upon arrival as it was during the last of the daylight hours, a first since the clocks changed, which kept spirits high as we talked of future runs in warmer temperatures and with increasing daylight hours.

We were quick to get to work armed with our litter pickers, bags and hi-viz vest, tidying a large area used by many local residents. By the time we had finished the litter pick around the park and green it was dark and the cold air was upon us, so we played a game of knee tag to warm ourselves back up.

Mike thanked us for our efforts and was quick to ask when we could come back again! With that, we set off on our run back to Leisure World.

Before departing was we discussed the Goodgym Olympics on Saturday 30th June and the next social being held after Goodgym on 11th April at the Noodle Bar.
