An unusually early morning trip to Asda, for Mr M's Saturday chicken and newspaper...in order to have time to get to a GG CM afterwards.

The best laid plans, of course, 'Gang aft a-gley'... and today was no exception.

The sad loss of HRH Prince Philip meant that the newspapers were delayed - special edition were being printed...

I went to pick up a chicken, but was half an hour too early...

The dogs and I went for a walk to pass the time, before picking up the goods and dropping them off with Mr M.

A pleasant, but hurried walk along the canal, with our first duckling sighting, and we were home in time for me to pack my bike bags and head out...

...I only got as far as the gate when I realised my front tyre was soft, a slow puncture...just enough time to take my bike back in, repack a bag and run down to the train station.

The train was pulling in as I arrived...up & over the bridge to the other side and a dash along the platform, with 2 minutes to spare.

A 45 minute walk and a lift from my daughter at the other end, and I reached the CM right on time...the perfect way to unwind from a stop-start sort of morning.
