Yesterday morning, Angela, Val, Tracey and Mel joined 400+ volunteers on Southsea beach to remove as much litter as possible braving some pretty icy wind blowing in from the sea. 163 kg of rubbish was weighed in, including the usual food wrappers, plastic straws, plus a few fireworks - remnants from New Year's Eve and cigarette butt's. We didn't find anything too unusual, but others found a green suitcase and a pair of dentures! Angela did manage to find a Portsmouth News Reporter and was able to give a shout out for GoodGym - well done Angela - so look out for the write up in the next issue. It was then time to warm our fingers and toes with some flavoured chai lattes in The Coffee Cup before going home.
