The Three Scythateers

Carl, Zinnie and John ran or cycled to Naburn station on the York Greenway to meet up with Peter and Ken from Sustrans/Greenways to help tidy up the recreation area. “Would you like to scrub and clean signs or scythe that area?” No contest of course - 3GGers went scything! First scything of the year and in Volunteer Week too! What a bonus. For those looking forward to Balsam Bashing season - surprisingly there may not be so much to do this year as our efforts over the years are proving successful. Comfrey has taken over everywhere and that’s to be encouraged. For those who remember working on the Maze, there may be another couple of weekend workdays coming up to repair and replace some damage done by a digger!
