On a grey Saturday after a relatively dry 8km run I went to meet the Northfield Litter Busters on the Bristol Road, a busy dual carriageway. The event was arranged by the lovely Lesley and the group are very active in South Birmingham tackling litter.

I made my way up the central reservation, which was already looking in good shape from the group's efforts. So instead I head up onto the verges on the side of the road and almost ended up skiing down them in the mud!

Although it was starting to rain this definitely did not dampen anyone's spirits. It was nice to chat with the group, discussing the features of our litter pickers and the best wellies. Simple pleasures!

STATS 23 bags of rubbish including: 2 pairs of shoes 1 DVD bottles, cans 1 mobile phone from the 90s 1 jacket
