Four intrepid GoodGymers turned up at Palace Road Nature Garden on a crisp Saturday morning, donned some wellies, grabbed a rake each, and jumped straight into the murky depths of the pond. Ninety minutes later, and the overgrown pond had been uncovered, the reeds cut back, the bottom sifted, the decking weeded and the banks rebarked, ready for the pond to be refilled. Quite a transformation!

Top three pond finds for the afternoon:

  1. Bricks - about a wall's worth

  2. Kinder Egg Surprise - very surprising find!

  3. A Samsung mobile - Gerry from the Nature Garden took it home to see whether a bag of rice could combat months of mud
