The masked crusader

I’ve been calling P a couple of times a week through lockdown, in theory to get his shopping list but in practice he’s been able to do his own shopping in bits and pieces, even though he’s on crutches.

He may need to head out soon, though, and ordered some masks. Unfortunately, he had a note from Royal Mail to say the postage was underpaid and he’d need to sort out the payment to get them.

I told him my mum and I had been making face coverings and would drop one to him. I then realised that all the masks are partly red, whilst P supports the city’s blue football team. I whipped up a blue mask, and he was really touched. It’s also the first time we’d met face-to-face, at 2m distance, of course!
