Three Pigeons Post: Small Group Session Sunday 21 June 2029

Kate, Letitia, Anita and Harry headed down to The Three Pigeons Plot on 21 June, the day of the Summer Solstice, to work on new planting and the construction of The Three Pigeons Insect Hotel.

We didn't start work until 9am so we were too late for sunrise, , probably a good thing as it was pouring with rain at the dawn of the longest day. Luckily by 9am the weather was improving and we were able to enjoy sunshine and not having to water the Plot.

Harry and Anita brought pallets and materials that they had temporarily stored during lockdown and these were carried down the Thames path to the lock-up in Beuccleuch Gardens. Outside the lockup on the grass, 3 more of the pallets were painted with white masonry paint and the two pallets that had been prepared last week were partially filled with material: twigs in one and rolled carpet and old wool jumpers in the other.

Meanwhile, back at The Plot, we planted Dill and Lobelia Crystal Palace grown from seed plus an assortment of donated spring bulbs. Letitia also took the scissors to the sweet william flowers to continue the dead heading that Naomi had started last week.

As today was also Father's Day, a special thank you to Harry and Three Cheers for all the other Good Gym members out there who are Dads.
