This Sunday morning 3 intrepid explorers set off in search of Narnia.....well - Ely!

Let the Faun and Games begin

Aimee and Darren met at Victoria park and ran into a harsh headwind to get to Mrs A's house. There they met the final member of their trio - Prince Jack. Let the Faun and Games begin! Our threesome were not met by Mr Tumnus but by Mrs A, her daughter and beautiful new baby granddaughter. She was a lovely host, even offering to make us a sandwich.

Our Heroes were here to build a flat pack wardrobe that had been liberated from the fierce Swedish tribe known only as Ikea. They set up in the bedroom and cleared the room for the big build! Forewoman Aimee took control and ordered Jack to itemise all the nuts, bolts, screws and tools. Darren and Aimee unboxed the parts of the Wardrobe ready for assembly and took the packaging out for recycling. The new unit is White Witch matches the existing furniture (sorry for that crowbarred pun!).

The team worked well together (well for the first 20 steps of the instructions anyway!) and soon something that resembled a wardrobe was appearing! That was until Jack noticed that a key part was back to front - oh how we laughed…..but then we quickly corrected our mistake. Aimee found using the Aslan key satisfying so she did the Lion share of fixings!

Goodgymers never throw in the Dowel!

All three Goodgym bods had very high standards and when hammering in the back panel the nails were spaced out with military precision. Although there was two nails leftover at the end and I think Aimee will be up all night fretting about them! The Mission took a lot longer than I think any of us were expecting - not because we had turned to stone - but because we were being thorough and wanted to get the job done right. Goodgymers never throw in the Dowel!

Mind you, the longer the mission went on.....the innuendo in the room made it feel more like a graphic novel than a children’s novel! ;o) How long did it take I hear you ask reader??......Well it is Narnia business! ;o) Only kidding, it was nearly 3 hours later that our tenacious triplets completed their good deed. Those sliding doors were a fiddly little job hey folks! Tensions were high as our story reached its climax, I'd say all three might need a visit to Hanger Management now!

When the Wardrobe was complete, did our Triad find Narnia???.......No they found some lovely Goodgym T-Shirts hanging proudly!

Mrs A was delighted with her new wardrobe and she will be back in touch for more help and another Chronicle in the series!
