Seeing all my fellow Newcastle Goodgymers pass the litter pick baton around, left me feeling a little bit of fomo.
I've been in Finland since the middle of December and can't say I've seen much (any!?) evidence of littering.
So I set off for a long walk through the wintery forests, armed with some preplanned litter - a banana peel!
I guess this kind of defeats the purpose of a litter pick, but I did walk with it in my hands for a good 18km!
And funnily enough just as I was approaching the first bin I'd seen, I found a very small sweet wrapper shining on the snow. So, it did turn into an official pick after all!
Oho, and as I was in Tampere, I thought it was rude not to include a moomin liquorice packet, which I can assure was put in the plastic recycling :-)
