Goodgym guide running regulars Simon and Harvey caught up with Steve (Simon's friend from Finsbury parkrun and frequent guide runner) and VI runners Andrew, Tom and Naqi for our weekly group run session at Paddington Recreation Track.

We were treated to an amazing sunset, and probably the first running session of the year that didn't require floodlights! Steve and Naqi enjoyed a walk/run session while Naqi recovers from his recent skiing accident (came down on his wrist, but apparently looked super cool doing it! Maximum style points). Andrew and Harvey ran a fartlek style effort around the track, varying between moderate efforts and recovery pace while Andrew adapts to his new shoes (beautiful new NB 880s v12- top quality mile mulchers for New York Marathon training!). Tom and Simon started running with the objective of running for an hour, or to run 10km, depending on how we were feeling. Tom was really strong today, and maintained 8.30 min/mile pace throughout the session, with a solis sprint for last 500m.

Fantastic running on a gorgeous evening. We even found ourselves dodging clouds of mist from the sprinklers freshening up the hockey pitch in the middle of the track. Looking forward to more excellent VI running as the Spring and Summer months continue!
