I visited Mrs M today as her regular visitor and friend is away for a couple of weeks. She was "a bit off colour" as she put it when I got to her nursing home. But as we chatted about her life, lovely late husband and loving parents, she started to cheer up until she felt "better for having this visit". It's wonderful when there's a visible improvement in someone's day.

After I'd been there a while, she remembered me from earlier visits (her memory is fast deteriorating) and she beamed at me with her 1000 watt smile. That made me feel special for a moment, seeing how genuinely happy she was to recognise me.

As we chatted, she started to tire a bit, so I said bye and promised to visit her again.
