I braved the tail end of Storm Darragh to take a walk around Sunderland’s gorgeous coast to drop off Christmas cards for residents of two care homes. One with a beautiful view of Seaburn sea front and the other nestled among the leafy area around Roker Park.

The security at one home was reassuring although slightly futuristic which meant I had to drop and dash but the other was a bit more casual and I was met at the door by a grateful staff member who was in the process of turfing out a resident cat!

11km total - cobwebs well and truly blown away and some festive joy delivered!
