It's always a smash and grab effort on Foodbank Wednesdays as the time flies over, packed with good things!

Max braved the horrific Tyneside storms today to cycle to the task showing how hard core GoodGymers are. He was first to arrive and happily already packing food parcels when I arrived.

Very shortly afterwards, Kate and Charlotte arrived and we spilt the jobs with the other foodbank volunteers. I was on my favourite task of loading the delivery cars with help from Max (I expertly allocated him the heavy bags) while Fiona a regular foodbank helper organised the drivers. We worked as fast as we could to avoid the heavy rain but I still ended up with very wet feet!

Kate and Charlotte took charge of replenishing the shelves ahead of a big tidy and pack day tomorrow. The foodbank has received a massive influx of donations and today every family received an extra bag of food which was a really heart warming feeling.

If you can donate, they are looking for toiletries, sanitary products and baby goods. Let me know if you'd like me to arrange a collection or pop along any time to drop items off.
