After the distribution shift, the foodbank kept their doors open for local families to collect a Christmas food parcel. This gave me the chance to help at the front desk for a change, and to meet some of the people coming in to collect food. My first job was to search on the tablet to see if there is a dedicated Christmas radio station. I was pleased to find out that there is, apparently just set up to “lift the spirits of the national in a difficult year”. So we had the foyer festively ready, and we donned Santa hats to serve the people coming in with a bit of Christmas cheer. After a couple of hours, it quietened down and I left them to see through the final hour.
