Today's task was to erect a new information board along the Solar System Way.

The meet point had everyone slightly perplexed.

Meet at planet earth!

This was a ploy by Peter to get us doing more exercise as the real meet point was about 400m further on, where we also had to carry two heavy posts, a large wooden frame, two bags of cement, water and a selection of heavy duty tools.

Firstly, Lizzie and Pete screwed the actual noticeboard onto the posts whilst Laura and I cleared back the space to prepare for hole digging.

Then, Pete and I set to work digging 60cm holes whilst Lizzie and Laura cleared the area of nettles and other spiky things.

We had to wrap some funny plastic stuff around the wooden posts which helps to prevent them from rotting, and once Lizzie had stapled them in place I had the honour of blowtorching them to 'shrink wrap' them into position. All this whilst Pete held his nerve, and the constructed board.

Finally we lifted the board into the holes and poured cement and water in, mixing it as we went. A final varnishing by Laura and it was done.
