26 runners ran 2 help 2 different community projects

Aye Carumba

24 diamonds met up at Somers Town Community Centre to do some thing good while on the run.

Bonanza

They were off to help two great little community projects. The Camden Butterfly Trust and Maiden Lane Community Enterprises. Jim the butterfly man wants to make as many insect friendly areas in Camden as he can; we're turn a roadside verge into a wildflower garden. Les from Maiden Lane manages the green spaces on the estate, creating edible beds and food growing areas for residents to enjoy.

Quiche Lorraine!

The larger group headed to Maiden Lane- they were tasked with the following.

Boom Painting the compost bins. Brap Spreading the mounds of woodchip. Bosh Wheelbarrowing some muck into the raised beds.

We hit it hard- in 25mins we had finished the lot...well almost the painting was virrrtually done. We'll need to give it another lick next time!

Wowzer

We made our way home along the canal-attempting some tempo running, at a 'controlled discomfort' pace back to the centre. Its good for heart strength-training the heart to pump more oxygen rich blood around the body. Nice.

Pow

Group 2 headed back to Camden to finish off the job we started with Butterfly Jim. We have started breaking up the hard ground so Jim can start planting insect friendly plantd. This week our job was to dig over the entire patch of land-it was tough physical work, but we made great progress. The land is starting to look workable-great work guys.

Next week the run starts at a slightly different location HERE in the lower lobby
