15 awesome runners ran 3km to help out at their local charity shop in Greenwich!

It was back to one of our classic tasks last night, the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice charity shop :) The people at the hospice do amazing work and it's always nice going to the shops to help out the volunteers in the stores.

We were joined by two new runners last night.. housemates Fiona and Helen, welcome ladies! Hope you enjoyed your first run with us!

It was a pretty grim day but luckily the sun came out for us just as 6.45 struck! Hooray!

Mmm toast

Fave thing this week was toast topping and I can't take full credit for that, Nina gave it to me last week. And if anyone else has any good ones then please ping them over and I will use them because, as you can tell, I'm struggling to think of new material each week! We've done all the obvious ones... fave film, Disney film, animal, sea animal, ice cream, cake, flag, country, city, dog, potato, egg, woman, kitchen gadget, hobby that's not running, restaurant chain, running shoe, day of the year... so anything outside those then let me know!!!!

We dropped off our stuff and did a little warm up. It's nice to see that after all this time, only ONE of you knows the drill... Thanks Ben Cooper, gold star for you!

After a few walking lunges, squats and a bit of Indian file, we took a lovely group snap and then got going! The charity shop was just down the road so we headed straight there along the main road. We were greeted by the lovely Jane and Sarah who are always so happy and pleased to see us :)

We split into groups and got to work! Chan took her team of lads to tag some clothes. A super efficient system was established very early on - one person tagging, one person pricing, one person hanging and the other person putting the clothes out on shop floor! AWESOME!

Helen grabbed the hoover, Vickie and Mridula sorted out the kids clothes while Jo polished the shelves and glass! Everyone else made themselves useful by tidying clothes, making sure the shop was just generally as lovely as possible so people want to come in and buy stuff!

After 25 minutes or so, we were done and the place was looking BEAUTIFUL! A quick hoover of the upstairs room by Steve and we were ready for a group photo. Elliot really made an effort and even put on his high heels for us... aw you shouldn't have :)

We bid farewell to Jane and Sarah and headed back to the uni along the river. Since the run was a bit shorter, we actually had time for a decent fitness session for once! We did a few core exercises with a partner in attempt to make it that tiny bit more fun...! 15 minutes and I think everyone's abs had had enough so we finished off with a nice little stretch and then inside for some cake! :)

Great job last night everyone! You did a day's worth of work in half an hour which is amazing and makes such a difference to the volunteers so thank you! Next week we are heading back to Ballast Quay and we will have a little social afterwards so please join us! See you then!
