Anytime Time Sessions week ending Sun 8 August included asking for plant donations, weeding, planting and 'artistic' grass cutting.

The overgrown Arcade lawn got a haircut. Initially the intention was just to trim the borders but the hand-shearing task took on a more impromptu direction with an attempt to cut out a GG logo in the grass.

Harry and Anita also weeded and planted a haul of bargain basement plants bought from Homebase: 5 Salvia; 5 Nepeta; 1 campanula and 3 cranesbill geraniums at The Arcade; plus 3 fushias at The Three Pigeons Plot.

There were also more efforts to get plant donations with visits to Homebase Richmond, Petersham Nurseries and The Palm Centre to follow up on earlier Emails. Nurseries are selling off their summer bedding and summer perennials to make way for autumn stock, so it is a good time to approach for donations. And there was success chasing the Parks and Garden Team at Boughton House (the 'English Versailles, part of the Buccleuch Estate) who have expressed an interest in our Arcade Rockery project. The Arcade in Buccleuch Gardens marks where Buccleuch House stood until demolition in 1932. It would be great to have some element that links the new planting scheme with the original riverside gardens.
