Under windswept and moody skies sixteen GoodGymers made their way to The Aqautics Centre for another evening of giving back and getting fit.

We welcomed Rich to the fold, soon to be parents with Victoria,it may be a fair few months before we see them shifting mulch and moving tables once more. Mel's off the cuff random weekly question "If you could do any discipline at the Olympics, what would it be?" 400m hurdles for the power, skill and fitness trio. Ski jump for the adrenaline junkie. Diving to conquer fear of edges. Gymnastics for the flamboyant. Modern Pentathlon for the man's man. Breakdancing for the hipsters. Triathlon for the grafters. Javelin to get it over with. Pole Vault for the novelty. 1500m cos it's all you know. Equine archery for the multitaskers. Quite the range of sporting aspirations - luckily we have just the event for you all - GoodGym Olympics. This summer - I want GoodGym Newham to field a huge team. Make it a huge social and a spanking day out. If you want to compete, can do in a friendly or competitive fashion or maybe just a bit of beer and cheer on a sunny day in hampstead heath? Please etch it into your diary and sign up here

Over at the school a comparably light task to last month, cutting down some ancient decorations, moving stationary and shifting some boxes from a storage unit outside. There was even some time for a touch of freestyle basketball. We left in good time, with good deeds done and dusted. Rich, Kev, Shaz and I discussed the practicalities of baby harnesses, the benefits of mindfulness minus the spirituality.

Victoria kindly brought some treats for the team to refuel, marking the beginning of her baby hiatus. Next week we head to the playground, for some earth between your fingers goodness. Sign up here

Before I sign off, have a great run at The Big Half this weekend, pace it with precision, go after a new PB and soak up the atmosphere. Can't wait to be regaled with tales of effort and joy come next week.

Till then
