Whoops! We had a last minute change of plan tonight but no worries, Millie had a backup task for us: collecting Christmas trees to be used as deadwood in Cator Park. Having trained our eyes to spot Christmas trees from a mile off last week, we were well equipped.

First, we met up in the Bridge House and shared our fave smells. We had the classics (freshly cut grass and petrol) and some more classy choices (sandalwood and New Zealand forests).

Then we hit the road in two groups, long and short distances before meeting outside Cator Park. Then we split in three to hunt down the trees.

Cat and co took a loop around Beckenham, Hannah and her team headed around the nearby streets and my wee gang went across the train line.

Compared to last week we had a very different haul - some absolute beasts and some tiny, trimmed trees.

I'm sure they will be greatly appreciated by the park team and probably used as some kind of habitat to increase biodiversity.

Nice work, everybody!
