What better way to enjoy the hottest day of the year than to do a spot of gardening! Me and Girija, who had come from another mission in Bromley (via a chocolate lunch!), met at Ms M’s house at 4pm - peak sun time, the temperature a sweltering 33 degrees! Ms M showed us to her back garden where one half of her lawn needed mowing. Neither of us had ever used a lawnmower before but luckily it wasn’t too difficult to work. I started mowing and Girija tidied up the edges that I couldn’t get with the mower. Within half an hour, the lawn was done! Ms M’s neighbour kindly let us put the grass cuttings in her bin and we headed back out into the heatwave.
