It's not about the numbers, is it? 25 people met at 6.25pm on 22/11/16 to run 3km to plant 100 bulbs in 30 minutes. That describes a little of what happened but really doesn't capture the essence!

We got lucky with the weather - it was cold and dry as we ran to Stackpool Road Home Zone where there were some flower beds that needed our TLC - the Patchwork Project led by the lovely Laura was on hand to supply tools, gloves and a large sack of daffodil bulbs... plus important advice about what was a weed and what was not. Loads of people had head torches, they make such a big difference to what we can do in the dark, so massive thumbs up for bringing them.

It was one of those tasks that seemed to be over almost as soon as it had begun, so swift and enthusiastic were the runners. During the weeding, an interesting mushroom (don't eat it Kevin!!!), a large empty wine bottle and a Sylvanian Family baby fox (see pic!) were found, as well as of course many many weeds. Once the weeds were removed, the planting of bulbs began.

With time to spare we were done, so Chris led a longer run around the docks whilst I lead the rest of the gang back to Queen Square for a bit of leg slapping. Yes, leg slapping - an agility/cardio game which involves lightly slapping or tapping your opponents legs. Then we did a load of lunges and squats and finished with a spider man plank, which is where the longer distance runners found us.

We all stretched out, and whilst stretching, I was reminded that the amazing Dave aka the Godfather had reached the milestone of 200 good deeds. There was therefore cheering and then cake back at Vivo, plus Dave was presented with his amazing and special 200 run 'Godfather' top. TOP JOB DAVE!

Thanks to everyone for turning out on a cold night - they're just going to get colder so wrap up warm, bring your head torch and enjoy!
