Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sevan
To round out the day, a flat pack furniture build was on cards for Kash and Sevan. Often a risky task that can take longer than expected. Mrs N greeted the pair and led them into her living room where she started moving some painting and drawings. As the layers were removed, Kash and Sevan realised that rise and fall desk they were meant to build was already partially done. They could now see the legs standing by themselves.
Mrs N explained that they'd done what she and her husband considered to be the easy parts, then got stuck.
"We realised that completing the desk needed good eyesight." - Mrs N
Well, one of the GoodGymers had brought their glasses, so they picked up where Mr and Mrs N had left off.
There were only 4 main steps left to complete:
While Kash & Sevan were building the desk, Mrs N offered them some Greek coffee. They couldn't say no to that and it was ready just as the desk was being tested. Sevan pressed the ⬆️ button and the table went up... on one side. Pants 🙁.
"This coffee must be made slowly with thoughts of kindness" - Mrs N
Kash and Sevan decided to mull over the desk problem while drinking slowly brewed coffee and having a chat with Mrs N about her life and her career as a painter.
After the GoodGym duo were recharged, Sevan had a 💡 moment. Connecting the drive shaft between the legs was the step before where he and Kash had started today. They found that it wasn't properly slotted in to the dud leg and needed to be refitted. It took 20 minutes of fiddling to get everything aligned, then the table worked perfectly 👌.
Mr and Mrs N were both hugely appreciative as they'd both benefit from the new table, Mrs N for painting and Mr N for reading. Also, they wouldn't have a set of black table legs taking space in the middle of their living room.
