Once the home of E Nesbit, author of the Railway children and once the future site of a never-realised orbital motorway, the Ringway centre is now a community centre hosting a number of events and having a small woodland attached to it. The centre has received a grant to allow it to develop and has acquired 1000 bulbs to plant in the woods.

But first an area in the woods needs to be cleared and that's where Good Gym came in. On a sunny Sunday two runners ran to the centre to meet the volunteers. They were soon set to work clearing an area of brambles and ground ivy to make it ready for the bulbs. After a couple of hours, and with the sun having been replace by the first rain for a long time, a few square metres of ground were clear and it was time to leave.

There is still a lot of ivy and bramble to clear so it's likely that Good Gym will be back for more of this rewarding task over the rest of the summer.
