Mission

Ride on Time

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Birmingham.

This was the first mission for Tousif, having done a good few community missions and group runs. We had slightly different ways of getting there. I decided (I have a reputation for dubious decision making around running distances) to make this the end point of a 16 mile training run; while Tousif managed to do an airport drop on the way, spotting me on my way twice!

Different journeys aside, we managed to meet at just the right time and introduced ourselves to Mrs V. We got quickly into various tasks, including changing a light bulb, moving plant pots, moving boxes and assembling a set of shelves. Mrs V was incredibly grateful as she could sort out a lot of things in her house without having to do any heavy lifting.

After we were done, I was wearily grateful for a lift home from Tousif, though given the miserable drizzle that greeted us on the way out, I wished he was taking me to the airport too!
