The current times are filled with uncertainty for all of us. Our lives have changed dramatically and the things we used to take for granted, such as going to a restaurant or meeting for a coffee with our friends, we can no longer do. Whilst these are difficult for everyone, for Mr A we hope the way we have been able to help will give him a reason to smile <3 Here's how we helped him...

Today, Sarah and I ran to help an older person, Mr A. To get to Mr A's home we ran via Roath park. On our way we observed the public obeying social distancing rules, and saw swans and ducks quaking away, appearing to enjoy the peace in a less frantic world. To me the world appears much less busy now there are less people driving on the roads and less people walking the streets. Mr A lives in a wonderful home in Cardiff. When we arrived at his home we greeted him in Welsh (Which I believe is Mr A's first language). We said "Bore da" and then asked "Sut ydych?" Mr A was impressed by our use of the Welsh language. He invited us into our home and straight away we washed out hands, signing happy birthday in Welsh quietly to ourselves. Moreover, we made sure that we maintained a 2m distance from one another at all times.

Mr A then invited us into the lounge. He explained to us what needed doing and straight away we began helping. We moved tables and chairs to the side of the room. The table was so heavy that it was like moving an elephant (Well, what we imagined it would be like to move one, as Sarah and I have no such experience). Moving the furniture to the side of the room made space for the bed to go so that Mrs A wouldn't have to stay in hospital.

Mr A was so pleased with the help we were able to provide in such a short space of time. His smile was very apparent and he waved us off as we left the house.

On our way back to our home and cars we kept our eyes peeled for more rainbows.... Somewhere over the rainbow...Bluebirds fly... And the dreams that you dream of... Dreams really do come true

Thank you to Mr A for giving Sarah and I a reason to run. We also wish you and your wife good health x
