We love Welling library, and we love making it look spic - n - span. Its one of our fave places to visit as we really enjoy weeding (reeding), cutting back hedges, making sure the plants are all looking good, and sweeping up any rubbish in the area. Its one of those tasks where you not only make a massive difference to the Library, but also to the immediate area. From our meet location at Crooklog sports centre we headed to Welling by a diverted route so we could put some extra K's in to our run. Nearly all of us have been in training for this weekends Winter Run in London so this was a perfect evening to put a bit of extra training in towards that event. On arrival we regrouped and looked at what needed to be done. We split into two groups. One to look after the front and side, and one group to look after the back car park and library back door and shed area.

We grabbed our weapons of choice and got to work, sweeping, cutting back, and weeding

There's so much more to just running and good deeding on a Monday evenings. As everyone gets to work its also a great time to talk. This can sometimes lead to a release for those who want to de-stress, talk about any issues, sad times they are going through etc. Having been in a position myself where i just wanted to talk about something that was building up inside and bringing me to a low point it was just brilliant to be able to talk to someone whilst running and good deeding. It really helps mentally as well as physically, and running with an awesome group of people is the icing on the evening, they are all really good listeners............ After 40 minutes of good hard work it was time to enjoy the fruits of our labour. We had filled 4.5 large sacks, virtually made space for another car to be able to park up at the back, and refreshed the front garden and side alley. After packing away the tools and securing the location it was time to pose for pictures in front of our work before doing a shorter but faster run back to base. Well done Bexley Goodgymers and thanks for your hard work this evening. You are all awesome. Quick shout out to Neil. Today he was sporting his brand new 100 good deed wing tee shirt. You are nothing short of awesome Neil. See ya all next week. PS..... its an indoor task!!! :-)
