It was nice to see people coming to a group community mission with big smiles on their faces. We all needed that socially-distanced contact and a chance to chat about the past few weeks.

We have formed three teams, with Nick, Barbara and Ellie heading to start at the basketball court end of the park, Laura, David and Maddie taking the younger children play area end and Vicky, Leanne, Mitch and Michal starting around the centre.

It tooks us just over 30 minutes to grit all paths within the park and the play area soft surface.

We have used most of the available grit and more will need to be delivered for tomorrow's gritting team. (Michal is on it with Kristina.)

Once all the gritting was completed everyone went back to the storage to put the tools away. Michal brought some cupcakes and we had a quick celebration of the January Challenge win before heading back home.

Hopefully the rain will not wash all the grit away.

Passing the baton over to the Sunday evening crew.
