The final leg of our litter picking streak in November as we headed along route 63 of the National Cycle Network through Rally Park and Stokeswood Park to help Sustrans keep the path clear of trash for commuters.

The runners head on an out and back trot returning to meet the walkers in Rally Park. Another impressive haul of bottles, cans, packets and the usual smattering of more obscure items including cricket fan Huw digging out an "abdominal guard" in the hedge!

En route back we found a further assortment of cans which we couldn't walk past so it became a more leisurely stop-start journey back to base!

As we arrived back Mel let out a huge scream, scaring the life out of those in earshot! A huge rat was lying flat on it's back on the pavement - without so much as a pause Stu became the rat-catcher and scooped it up with his litter picker and disposed of it!

Great work tonight everyone, join us this Sunday if you have a spare hour for a community mission volunteering at the Watermead Winter Warmer raising money for some fantastic local charities.

Happy running, HD
