As I arrived in Stratford with an iced coffee & tonic water in hand (terrible purchase), I felt excited about the new task that awaited us. Paired with the gorgeous evening, solid number that had signed up online and the tremendous chicken sandwich that I had at lunch time - things looked alright.

An exquisite 13 of us in total. We did a super brief warm up outside, as the journey ahead was one of our longer trips. A round of applause given for Justin and one in order for Alice , as they both defied their brain's self preservation chatter and ran The Great North Run last weekend. A whopping 13.1 miles - cracking. With the likes of Violeta running the San Sebastian Half. Alex running the Royal Parks Half. Plus Jason sounding very interested in doing one soon...we've become a bit of an enduro-outfit, who's next I say? You?! Yes, you.

We danced through East London to our brand new job, randomly bumping into our task owner en route. Myra had gone to get some WD40 to loosen the padlock on the gates. Once we arrived, with our tickers pumping at an increased rate, we assessed the job at hand. A 60m long and maybe 7 metre wide garden. Currently overgrown and decrepit, our job was to clear the invasive weeds. Commencing our transformation of beast to beauty. We have until March to turn this land into a magnificent community garden for all to use. Giving somewhere to relax and unwind for the locals - a potentially huge effect on the area. Up for the challenge?!

Using shears and secateurs, the guys went through the weeds like an alcoholic at an open bar. 20mins, almost a third of the space was cleared, just proving many hands make light work, and how awesome and useful we can all be working together.

The hugely grateful Myra said her thanks, many times, you can really see how much this means to her. We grouped up and then rolled through pyramid session on the way home. 5 sets of 30s, 20s, 10s. With Luxurious recovery in between. There was real speed on display - great to watch!

Special shout outs to Jane, who made it back after being beasted at work, lovely to have you back. Hin who again I haven't seen for a while, looks committed to getting in super shape. Carol who doesn't enjoy the long runs so much, braved it out and motored along. PLUS Peter who we enjoyed for the last time for quite some time. He's off to Las Vegas to start a new chapter. A great bloke, wicked GoodGymer, and an enthusiasm you can't buy in the shops. You'll be missed Pete. I felt so bad, I even let you beat me in that last sprint - a leaving gift, if you will.

Right, sign up here for next week. Look forward to seeing you guys there

Hahahaha, Brahma, thanks for letting me win the Glory Effort. And thanks to GoodGym, and all GoodGymers; I've thoroughly enjoyed my time, doing good in the community. I can't wait to see how the soon-to-be-lovely garden of last night progresses.
