This was the rescheduled leafleting comunity mission for FoodCycle, Gateshead Teams. FoodCycle has a number of branches which tackle food waste, food poverty and loneliness by cooking a weekly community meal with surplus food which anyone can attend.

We now had the correct leaflets, well once I had got half way to the task, checked the leaflets, relised they were the original batch and rushed home to swap them for the new leaflets.

Once I had retrieved the correct leaflets me and Lucy make quick work of the leafleting getting them all out in under an hour. The most difficult part was keeping track of which houses we had done as we twisted through the Staithes south bank eastate.

Earlier we had been talking about how last time I was leafleting in this area there was an adorable cat. When we had finished and were walking back we saw not one but two adorable cats playing near the river!

A very satisfying task and we hope that the leaflets help recruit volunteers for FoodCycle in Teams, Gateshead.

Bringing people together to nourish communities with good food and conversation, through the power of community dining.

FoodCycle community meals bring people together for good food and conversation. We serve free, wholesome meals made from food that would have gone to waste, prepared by volunteers and open to everyone. FoodCycle is about more than food – we create a cycle of positive change – reducing food waste and hunger, tackling loneliness, supporting mental health and encouraging healthy eating and sustainable living.
