The sun is not only shining but it's ever so slightly hot. That's why 26 summer flutterbies headed to Daubeney fields to finish painting a magical gate and fence and 4 others headed to a mission for weeding and fence erection.

After a huge game of tell me your name and I'll tell you mine we headed off on mass to meet Gerry aka the gate keeper aka the tea and biscuit giver aka we love heading to Daubeney fields as we get treats lol.

An amazing transformation has happened since we first started heading to the carpark it was just that, a car park. Now it's a pretty little place full of pretty little things and the community around it treasures it.

Anyhow... 1.6 miles after departure we arrived full of smiles, a brief introduction to the project and the task at hand which was to finish painting the bespoke gate, surrounding fencing and push a giant cable carrier half a kilometre through a car park as it was going to be cut in 2 to make tables for eating and joyful summer celebrations.

We broke off into 3 teams and with 34 minutes on the clock made light work of a seemingly difficult task or tasks 😊. The rhythmic sound of paint on brushes and brushes in wood could be heard over the laughter and chat as enjoyed this every so wonderful evening.

Apparently (Completely uncurated) A member of the team was trapped under the cable carrier, well so they said so EVERYONE bunched together to move the immovable object so we could be on our way.

As usual Gerry provided the team with snacks, refreshments, hot and cold meats, tofu, a cheese board and most importantly Perrier.

We said our goodbyes and swiftly made our way back to base camp floating effervescently towards the setting sun.

This my friends is the life of a GoodGymer, long may we live and long may this goodness continue.
