We were met at Ms P's by Catherine the referrer, who showed us what needed doing, mainly in the back garden making the area outside the French doors where Ms P sits nicer to look at. As she is virtually housebound this will be a huge help in allowing her to enjoy her garden again.

Our first job was to remove a very dead (and very flat-looking) hedgehog. I grabbed a spade and quickly passed it to Ellie who bravely removed it to under a nearby hedge (it was a "hedge"hog after all). Ellie then took the shears and trimmed the tall hedge which was partially blocking Ms P's view and I started moving some of the more dead-looking and empty/weedy pots and tubs to the other side of the patio. We removed the weeds from between the cracks, neatened the edges and placed the pots that still had plants in them (especially those with some colour) nearer to the French doors. I found 2 lovely blue pots which we thought would give some colour and so we repotted a couple of plants into them and added them to the arrangement around the French doors.

Just before we left, Ellie found a shiny new edging tool (which she couldn't resist) and she set to work making the other side of the patio look neat and tidy. I tidied up and ferried the pile of weeds we had created via a narrow passage through to the green bin at the front of the house, using a green crate Ellie had found hiding under the bench (after deciding that the pink trug wasn't big enough - although it did make Ellie look a bit like Little Red Riding Hood so I had to take a photo).

Ms P had a quick chat with us and said how grateful she was . She also told us about her cat who has lots of cat boyfriends, one of which sits outside on the drive at night waiting! We went our separate ways, Ellie walking and me cycling, glad to have helped Ms P enjoy what she can see of her garden again.
