Pole Dancing, Funny Plugs and Cats with Irish Accents

After getting the weekend off to the best possible start and taking part in Concord parkrun, 3 of Sheffield's recent black t-shirt recipients headed to Mrs P to help out with her garden, which had been her husband's pride an joy.

Cockney Kim did a great job of going around the garden with Mrs P to make sure we knew what we were tackling. She then got stuck in with the fork to get the weeding underway.

"That's me pole dancing" Mrs P as she walked back to the house holding onto the clothes pole.

Mowing Suze got straight to work cutting the grass after a brief game of "how do you turn this thing on?"

Scrubbing Steve focused on some weeding in the beds nearest the house and cleaning some of the brickwork and paths. With Mrs P struggling initially with Steve's Irish accent, she was soon onside and even defending him from the mockery of others (it has been a while after all).

We replanted some potted plants and transferred a poppy plant to the other side of the garden and Mr P was able to have a look out on the much-improved garden.

We had a great chat with Mrs P about her travels and pastimes in her earlier years. I high five for each of us from Mr P before we left, we hope to be back to hear more and help get that garden closer to its previous glory.
