2 weeks after our sunny return to Cody Dock, today 8 Goodgymers braved much wetter weather to head down to help the lovely team at Cody Dock with some clear up.
Kevin, Hilary and I were first there and headed straight off to Cody Road on the other side of the dock for some litter picking, and steadily worked our way through the rubbish coming across lost jewellery and a bin full of bricks along the way.
Meanwhile Tori, Charlotte, Mel, Graham and Aaron tackled the clean up operation on the Wildlife corridor just on the edge of the dock. An illegal rave had been recently held here so there was plenty to be cleared! Before long they had filled several bin bags and returned it to its normal beautiful state and it was exciting to hear about the future plans for this area, as well as the possible discovery of a new animal species that had been living in there which contributes to the all-important biodiversity of the docks and shows the success of their work to 'rewild' the area.
Before setting off we had a milestone to celebrate with Charlotte's 50th task with Goodgym! She had cleverly adapted our traditional milestone celebration (cakes) for our new socially distanced world and instead provided everyone with an individual pack of party rings - prompting lots of nostalgia on childhood parties and playground games - thanks Charlotte and congratulations on getting that prized black t-shirt!
