As the government announced the end of their Plan B, we were just embarking on ours. Our planned trip to the Lawns Nursery needed to be postponed due to staff shortages, so we diverted our energy into a torchlit litter pick instead.

A very warm welcome to Nic, who joined us for her first session, despite the chilly weather and last minute uncertainty around what we would be doing. It was also great to welcome Fiona back for her second session and to catch up with regulars Sophie, Jess, Georgeta and Steve, who had all traveled from Maidenhead.

Thanks to Councillors Karen Davies, Amy Tisi and Helen Price, who helped give us a Clewer where we might target our efforts. Litter picking a new area was a Spital order for navigationally challenged Amy, but thankfully Steve was on hand to show us round his old neighbourhood.

We warmed up with a little 'litter picker hurdles' course at the Pirate Park, then Hatch Laned a plan that involved running together down St Leonards Road to Bolton Avenue, from where we would pick our way back to the start. Sophie, Fiona, Jess and Amy headed back down St Leonards, whilst Georgeta, Steve and Nic Boltoned off to tackle some more streets. We met up again around the Express Offie and compared notes on our findings: lots of the usual bottles, cans, plastic wrappers, cigarette butts and face masks, but also the more unusual... a doll's bicycle seat, a pair of glasses, keys, socks and even cash.

By now our rubbish bags were getting pretty Bulkeley Ave, and we were a bit Clewer cHilly so we found public bins for most of the rubbish and headed towards home with a Springfield Ave in our step. Fiona hung onto her bag just in case we found any more rubbish on the way, and turns out it was Dedworth Road it! We had lots of fun scoring litter hoops in the moving target provided by Fiona's bag and meanwhile she got an epic arm workout.

Well done everyone! Keep an eye on the listings for when the run/walk to the Lawns is rescheduled. All upcoming events can be found here. See you soon!
