Another inter-Yorkshire band of GoodGymers tackled the hardest run that we've done so far!

With a 16-strong crew, Josh led the way to Lavender Court, where we were to dig over a small patch of garden for the elderly residents as part of their garden development plan.

On the way out, poor Stevie G hit the deck after missing his footing and after a full examination by Caroline, Tom was on the scene with his first aid kit. With a scuffed knee and a sore ankle, he had to bail out of our task (we are sending all of our healing love). The rest of us took a special 'Egg shortcut' to try to catch up with the others; the shortcut involved a footpath with many, many stairs.

Where is this task? On top of the world? - Lizzie

When we arrived, the rest of the gang had gotten the task well underway and were being supervised closely by two friendly residents. It was an unexpectedly large turnout for Barnsley and there were not as many tools as there were people so some people took on weed-picking-up duty as others turned the soils with hoes.

Do you want me to flick it with my hoe? - Question of the night by Kim!

It was a long, hilly and challenging route so the task had to be fast and furious - but it didn't take long to fill up several bags of weeds and debris. Against the fence there were some big old roots that needed some real muscle to get out, Dan celebrated with the biggest rooty trophy of the evening, holding it up in delight.

We finished up by stacking all the bags and roots against the fence whilst Lou did a marvelous job of sweeping up all the mud and making the area look lovely. We had just enough time for a couple of group photos before a hilly run back across Barnsley - with a short break on route for some wall sits and high knee drills, obviously.

We cheered everyone in with an arm tunnel and some high fives, it was deserved after such a tough run and guess what? We're back there in a couple of weeks, woohooo!
