The John Scott Centre is one of the larger vaccination centres and borders Hackney and Islington. As the winter approaches and people’s booster shots become due, the place is starting to get busy again, and there’s a call for extra volunteers each day of the week if you’re interested (details below)

Today my shift was at a key point between the waiting area and our medical staff, making sure that people were directed to the right booths and keeping waiting times low and medical staff busy. There’s a sizeable volunteer team which is always looking for more help (second nudge to look below :)

The volunteer slots are in multiple locations around Hackney throughout the week, last 3 hours each and are entirely loggable to count towards your GoodGym Good Deeds. If you're injury-prone like me, they're a great excuse to be on your feet and stretching out to speed your recovery. Email jane.tyler@vchackney.org and mention you’re a GoodGym volunteer (naturally, they think we’re trustworthy, reliable and lovely). Once they get you signed up on the online system, you can pick which time slots and locations work for you.
