What better way to spend the morning than plogging 4 miles through beautiful countryside paths around Elvaston Castle.
I collected 3 bags of rubbish and bumped into 1 group of litter picking volunteers! We had a great chat about keeping the area clean for people to enjoy and keeping it safe for the wildlife, particularly during nesting season. The Ranger let me put some of my rubbish on her truck so I could relieve myself of the weight of all the bottles, cans, plastic, balloons, wrappers and bicycle inner tubes! I ended the pick at my local Coop carpark, having noticed a huge amount of litter around the benches and in the flower displays made beautiful by Borrowash In Bloom volunteers but looking sad with crisp wrappers and cans amongst the blooms. It's looking better now!
