Mission

No need for a good "pick up" line? We'll be "positive" and "stash the trash"

3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lambeth.

Today is the World Cup final but before that can kick off, the team of Danny, Victoria and I had to kick off a mission first. We had two tasks to do both with their challenges. Task one: Change the battery in Mr W's fire alarms as they keep beeping keeping him awake at night. We faced two fire alarms, so after a while of trying to figure out how to get the batteries out of both them, Danny was able to change the battery in one and restore it in its rightful location and tested to see if it works. While the other one was removed completely as the battery change had complex requirements. We can safely say Mr W can now have a well and truly deserved "power" nap.

Task two: To remove the litter in Mr W's garden. We all got involved in picking up the trash that was stashed in places but unfortunately the major problem was the thick, long, prickly branches that had piled up in a heap mass. So without the right tools we were unable to dispose of these menacing branches. But all in all it was an overall good job and we all parted ways to catch either the final or to other personal arrangements. Sadly football may not be coming home this time but some good deeds definitely are and that's more important.

Mr W is my coach and I saw him after you’d left today. He was really grateful for the work you all did today and said he’d got confused with dates and if we can arrange a second mission he will borrow the tools from his neighbour. I’ll request a new mission!

Hey Victoria. Mr W was a wonderful host and really pleasant to chat to! He was very appreciative of your visits - although there may have been some confusion about having two Victorias visiting on the same day! Glad you're coach running - how are you finding it? Great - new mission ahoy. Let me know if you need help!
