The last Wednesday of the School Holidays, a bit of rain, and Colchester traffic doing its best to make me late, but still 10 faithful runners showed up to do some good in their community. We welcomed Sarah as a first timer, and we were all in awe of Ian's black t-shirt which represents 50 good deeds with Goodgym.

Wombling for Rivercare, one of our favourite tasks, and tonight we did the area between the Middle Mill weir and North Station Approach Road, both the North and South sides of the river. Since we've started taking care of this section of river, we really notice that there is a lot less each time we go to clear litter. The really big bits that have been lying around for years aren't there any more, and I guess there is some truth in the belief that litter attracts litter. So, when we clear it, there is less to magnetise new litter.

The most interesting find of the evening was a toy police car, found by Bob, hence the wonderful pun for this run report.

After the wombling, we did some hill reps on North Hill, but we were disappointed to learn that Ian's wife wasn't in Ask for dinner - usually we get to give her a wave.

Next week, we'll be having a social after the run, so make sure you clear your diaries for some delicious Italian food.
