A red t-shirt quartet set off from base towards Abbey Gardens. We discussed our current favourite food spot in London. An unassuming Chinese in Stratford, perhaps a Lebanese in Holborn, another Chinese - all vegan - in Angel, or a Japanese in Holborn. Trends to note: we only like Chinese, or eating in Holborn, but never a Chinese in Holborn.

Abbey Gardens was looking vibrant in the sun, if a bit dry. We tackled a mammoth pile of steaming wood chip, laying it between raise beds to suppress weeds and grass etc. I naively said "this will take us 15 minutes" to the chap organising, Xuan. I was very wrong, the dangers of over-optimism, careful out there. We did however make a pretty sizeable dent in the mound of mulch, some say it was 50% less, but we'll never truly know.

We practised some spinting on route back, 5 x 10s with increasing recovery, running towards a setting sun...and cake. Hils made an Apple Cake, which 'wasn't great' as she put it. Simon, Kev and I disagreed as we dived in for seconds.

Next week we hit up Cody Dock, for Rosa's 200th, a big old milestone that. Let's celebrate that dedication and commitment. Sign up here

Till then,
