Don't stop us now...we're having such a good time.

Tonight was green fingered fabulous fun. Why? Well sit back, relax and read on.

As 6.30pm approached there was a light misty rain developing and a nervous photographer with an expensive lense! However, there is sunshine and warmth wherever Goodgym Colchester go.

We welcomed friend of Goodgym but first time runner Sam on to centre stage to rock the evening away in the flower beds. Our sunny disposition was increased by news of Vanessa's first place at Sizewell Parkrun. WINNER! There was also a reminded of the next mega event for Goodgym - THE OLYMPICS.

We trotted and limbered up south of the river, enjoying the green surroundings and peaceful evening. Then we cantered up the hill to meet Liam (Colchester's finest young photographer) who braved the damp, covered his camera in a plastic bag and snapped away. Can't wait to see the results.

We also met Chris and Jenny who explained the task - digging out two flower beds in the ancient moat of the castle aka the sunken flower bed. The tulips were to be used by Colchester in Bloom and the Goodgymers saved a few more flowers for their own gardens.

I say this a lot - but the before and after photos prove how brilliant the team worked. Everyone worked hard and kept warm, completing the task and walking back to Leisure World to do a little strength work and stretching.

Tim - the park Ranger was as impressed as Chris and Jenny, even providing a rake for Alex to give the finishing touches to the flower beds. Craig David is in for a right treat on Sunday and I know he is a keen horticulturalist.

Dan B enjoyed a muddy face mask - some people probably pay a lot of money for one of them. (See photos!!)
