On a Sunsational Sunday, one man armed with a barrow and shovel shifted (moved, not ate) a mound of chips and create a 30-foot-long woodland path

I had so enjoyed gardening and lunching in the sun the day before that I wanted an encore! It was also round the corner for the next mission which meant plenty of sunshine and exercise was on the cards.

I was already warm from the sun run and thought of all the GoodGym race team running races in the hottest day of the year. I received even more warmth in a welcome from Glenys and the team from CREOS.

Today's task was simple but far from easy! I was asked to upscale the existing woodchip path and shown two huge piles of chips.

The longest wheelbarrow race

My goal was to shift as much as possible and to create a woodchip path, at least a couple of inches high rather than just a scattering of chips which will disintegrate after rain, wear and tear.

I was also asked to start from the furthest point from the mounds. That meant a lot of mileage and I clocked up more than 2.25 miles and half the journeys were with extra kilos.

I jogged as much as I could with the wheelbarrow and the difference between an empty and full barrow made me think about the effect of weight for races. Maybe I'll shift a few pounds for the next race. But I had to enjoy lunch today!

Nice spread

After shifting one of the mounds and joining my new path to the old thinly covered path it was time for a picnic!

We were treated to great conversation, pasties, pastries, cheese and hummus followed by fresh strawberries. Yum!

I had a lovely few hours with the team and hope to be back again soon. Check out the GoodGym website for dates of the next monthly visits (broadly third Sunday of the month).
