Today I went to see Mrs D. She was doing well, she was expecting her son to show up with the groceries and the newspaper that would provide her with the very important TV Guide for the coming week. In the meantime we discussed the current events, the very sad news that Queen Elizabeth has passed away. Mrs D had seen the Queen on a few occasions in Windsor. The closest she got to her was when she and her mum were on the Long Walk in the Great Windsor Park and the Queen was in a car that drove slowly by. Neither her nor her mother could think of anything to say to the Queen on the heat of the moment, and ever since she had hoped that one day she might meet her again and be able to tell her about that day. Sadly, not anymore... After my visit, I then cycled on to the Windsor Castle where I witnessed lots of people queuing to pay their respects and show their gratitude to the Queen by placing flowers at the gate. A very sad moment in the history of the world.
