A bunch of Goodgymers bravely disregarded the inclement weather forecast and soggy state of early Sunday morning Sheffield and headed up to the Longshaw Estate to support the running of the monthly Trust 10 event. It is a fantastic event held on the fourth Sunday of every month, free and open to all, like parkrun, but double as far and in the beautiful eastern Peak District.

We joined other regular volunteers and donned our hi vis jackets and packed our emergency gear, which thankfully wasn't needed.

Marshals were spread out round the course ready to shout encouragement (or otherwise) at the brave souls who signed up to the testing Trust Ten terrain.

Afterwards we regrouped for welcome hot drinks and cake (do any running events NOT involve cake?) and had a quick debrief with the organising staff who appreciated our efforts.

A great thing to do on a Sunday morning that didn't turn out to be as soggy as we'd feared. Some of us found the energy to jog back to Sheffield afterwards via Burbage. Here's to the next event.

I love to be outside. I'm at my happiest skimming stones on a beach, or running somewhere beautiful.
