Wowww! 15 cool bean Goodgymmers ran 3km and helped out at Ealing Transition Initiative.

The initiative is spear-headed by the wonderful Trevor and Grant, with the aim to create a self sustaining woodland area and edible garden in Lammas park!

And now for a run report from the awesome Kerryyyy:

Yesterdays run was a gentle one, which started off in glorious daylight and with a booming crew of 15! Started off with warm ups then made our way to Lammas Park. The area of the park that we worked in has been developed to encourage wildlife habitats. We were divided into groups for trimming hedges, mulching trees and carrying logs. There was loads of work but everyone was on it like a flash!

We had superb snipping from Chris and Ian, strong work on the log carrying/pushing/kick rolling Sonia and Stephanie! And everyone else did amazingly, mulching, wheelbarrowing, just generally being awesome.

We also found a little frog (I believe his name was Frederick?! Lisa) chilling under the pile of logs and moved him to his new home sweet home. The park boasts having stag beetles (cool I didn't know that! Lisa) which are rare in the UK because of overly tidy gardens. The park also has an orchard which one day will allow visitors to have a nibble on some fruit whilst walking.

Some paired up exercises (including sprints, bounds, partner squat push, partner jump squat, burpees...amazing effort everyone -Lisa)in the park got us back into the gym element before making our way back to base. We stretched our well worked muscles out before parting ways.

Until next week team!

Thanks Kerry! So that was that! Trevor also gave us loads of tips on improvements we can make personally to help environmental sustainability in our own lives. I had an amazing time and can't wait to see everyone next week!
