An eleven strong team formed at the Aquatics Centre. With a large section of regulars unable to come, this turnout was pretty damn good.

We warmed up whilst I went through a few things...to recap: reminding you about the parkrun this Saturday, creating a goal on the GG website, signing up to Strava. Oh, and how complimentary Lawrence was about your painting prowess last week.

Then a litte random question fun, "what time would you travel to in a time machine?" And "favourite pancake topping?". Clear favourite for the latter was lemon and sugar, Brad chops up cream eggs and lobs them in there. Angela smashes cookies with her fists and sprinkles them in. These guys make their own Pancake rules.

Two groups ran towards Portway Primary School to help shift soil. These two groups took on two routes. Myself, James, Graham and Rodrigo held a nippy pace in order to get there early and do a bit more work before the others. Due to the small scenic detour I took the two groups arrived within about 30 secs of each other. Whoops.

Had a quick chat with Cassie about her project, working with eighteen schools, integrating growing into school children's curriculum. Then we got stuck straight in. Shovelling soil into large two handle containers and one wheel barrow. It was heavy duty work. I estimate one of those buckets to be almost 40kg, the key was the team work, splitting it up and sharing the graft. Cassie said there was 2 tonnes of soil roughly...you guys went through it in 30 mins. Corking stuff. Really enjoyed the efficiency of your efforts yesterday - very slick process.

A quick run back in the rain, was a bit like Rocky when a group of 15 school kids sprinted along with us, temporarily, practise kids.

Thanks for your hard efforts guys... See you all next week for a brand new task!
